The Knights of Columbus are the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded in the United States in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, there are more than 1.8 million members in over 15,000 councils across the globe. Dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism, the Knights of Columbus organize and participate in numerous charitable activities each year that are designed to benefit their parish communities, to help their brother Knights grow deeper in their faith as Catholic men, and to serve the needy and less fortunate in the world.
Our St Alphonsus Council of the Knights of Columbus in Chicago, IL, is part of a collection of nearly 500 KofC councils in the State of Illinois, and over 75 councils in the Chicago Archdiocese.
